Crafting Impactful Branded Video Content in Singapore for the Ministry of Manpower
Every corporate video tells a story. When you partner with a major government agency, the pressure changes. You have to nail their strict institutional guidelines while keeping the final film completely grounded and authentic.
We recently teamed up with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and the creative agency Goodfellas to produce an interview feature. The narrative focused on a modern workplace topic. Specifically, how an HR professional named Yi Jing tracks her career health with direct backing from her employer
The Brief: Humanising "Career Health" for a Government Agency
The objective was straightforward. MOM wanted a real-world example of career health to prove that open communication between employees and employers drives professional growth.
But office interviews can easily feel dry. How do you make them look alive?
As a video production agency Singapore companies rely on for genuine storytelling, our job involves far more than hitting record. We had to build an environment where an actual workplace dynamic could surface naturally. Our focus was to set a new standard for the kind of corporate video production Singapore organisations use to cut through the noise.
Production Realities: Overcoming Challenges on Set
Corporate shoots rarely happen in a perfectly controlled studio. This project threw two classic production puzzles our way.
Challenge 1: Getting Natural Performances from Non-Actors
Our main subject, Yi Jing, is a brilliant HR professional, but like most real corporate employees, she isn't a trained on-screen actor. During the initial takes, she was understandably a bit nervous and very soft-spoken.
Our Solution: Rather than pushing a rigid script, our experienced director took a step back to offer personalised guidance and encouragement. By shifting the atmosphere to feel like a relaxed, casual conversation rather than a high-pressure interview, we coached her into delivering her lines with undeniable confidence and a warm, natural presence.
Challenge 2: Making a Quiet Office Look Active
The client’s office space looked good, but it was too quiet. It lacked the natural energy and movement required to simulate a buzzing corporate hub on camera.
Our Solution: We brought in and directed a diverse group of background extras. This instantly gave the frame realistic movement and office texture.
The Agency Advantage: Managing client feedback on active sets can get hectic, but working alongside the team at Goodfellas made the process incredibly seamless. They did a fantastic job mitigating comments and aligning expectations, allowing our crew to focus entirely on nailing the visual execution.
The Final Deliverable: Authentic Corporate Storytelling
The final edit pairs clean production value with the unforced chemistry of a real workplace partnership. The resulting interview video gives equal weight to both the HR employee and the employer.
The visuals are clean, the pacing is sharp, and the message is crystal clear. It serves as a benchmark for how government and corporate communications can be elevated through thoughtful filmmaking.
